TASMANIAN participants Ben Yole and Natalee Emery combined for the highest-priced Australian winner of 2017.
Emery drove the Yole-trained Capture Me to victory at Launceston last June, with the mare scoring as the rank outsider over 1680 metres.
Finishing stoutly to account for Olivers Mate and Tenfour, Capture Me paid a whopping $274.20 with New South Wales TAB.
Silk Banyula, driven by Scott Hewitt for trainer Shelley Evans, was the highest priced local winner, $136.90, at Goulburn last January.
Interestingly, Victoria’s top three priced winners were international starters, headed by East End’s success at Mohawk on June 25 at a mouth-watering dividend of $513.90,
Remains which paid $295.20 at Gavle in December and Awa Victoria at $255.60 at Mauquenchy in October round out the top three.
The Mighty Rock’s triumph at Pinjarra last May was the highest Aussie dividend with Vic TAB at $193.20.
