FORMER Kiwi Phoenix Warrior notched his second straight victory when too slick in last night’s Handicap Pace at The Meadows.

After finding the front early, Phoenix Warrior released Arthur Pendragon to the lead before Dan Rawlings quickly sent him forward to reassume control.

The son of Jereme’s Jet kept Arthur Pendragon at bay with a 27.3-second final panel to score by a length in 1:52.3. Hawk’s Red Chief finished third.

Scott Betts trains Phoenix Warrior, which extended his bankroll to $220,693, for Timothy Betts, Nicholas Catalano and Stephen Moss.

Dave Palone and trainer Marcus Marashian teamed for three victories on the 13-race card, while Mike Wilder and trainer Norm Parker also enjoyed triples.
