FORMER Australian pacer Nike Franco has outclassed her rivals in the second Breeders’ Crown Mares Pace elimination at Hoosier Park last night.
Driven by popular reinsman Tim Tetrick, Nike Franco worked to the lead at the quarter as Call Me Queen was eased to take a trail.
With the remainder of the qualifier developing into a formality, Nike Franco cruised to a soft win from Bedroomconfessions.
Covering the final split in 27.2 seconds, the daughter of Mcardle stopped the clock in 1:51.2.
Owned by Richard Poillucci and prepared by Jim King junior, Nike Franco registered her 29th win from 52 starts.
“She’s just a sweetheart,” Tetrick said. “She’s just as good on or off the pace. When they let her go 1:24 to the three quarters, she likes that, too.”
