THOSE looking to contest next season’s Inter Dominion better lodge their nomination forms pronto!
Noms for the $1.8million Perth-based series close with Racing and Wagering WA at 4pm local time on Friday.
Several stars have already been entered for the Championship, including 2015 winner Lennytheshark and reigning Grand Circuit champion, Lazarus.
Along with Lazarus, New Zealand partners Mark Purdon and Natalie Rasmussen plan to make the trip over with Our Dream About Me and Have Faith In Me.
The power couple captured last season’s Final with recently-retired star Smolda.
Exciting prospect San Carlo, which has won 17 of his 20 starts for trainer Stephen O’Donoghue, was nominated earlier this week, joining fellow Victorian, Major Crocker, which is poised to return for his third crack at the prestigious series.
Major Crocker captured the 2015 Inter Dominion Consolation for trainer Vince Vallelonga.
Comeback pacer Devendra is a surprise entry for Inter Dominion winning horseman James Rattray.
A dual heat winner in 2015, Devendra then finished fourth and second in the Fremantle and WA Cups before succumbing to injury.
Returning after a 17-month absence last June, Devendra’s three starts in his home state of Tasmania have netted three placings.
Locals Ross Olivieri and Skye Bond have nominated multiple runners, with Motu Premier and Im Full Of Excuses leading the Olivieri team, while Our Jimmy Johnstone spearheads Bond’s stable.
Heats of the TABtouch-sponsored series are scheduled to begin at Gloucester Park on November 24, with the $1.1million Final set for December 8.
