Glassi simply too classy

HANDY performer Glassine Hanover was simply too good for her rivals when scoring in the fastest division of last night’s Pennsylvania Sires Stake at The Meadows.

Successful in a pair of PASS legs last year, Glassine Hanover stopped the clock in 1:52.3 this time around.

After breaking clear of the pack for driver Tyler Smith, the daughter of Dragon Again staved off a late charge from Black Jack Pat to score by a nose. Gallic Sea was several lengths away third.

“She was waiting on them a little bit,” Smith said. “I kind of shut her down a little bit going into the last turn. Once she saw the other horse, she fought her off.”

Trent Stohler prepares Glassine Hanover, which took her bankroll past $200,000 owners Benjamin Graber, Tim Graber and Dolne Farm Services.

Pittstop Danika and Caviart Ally took the other divisions in the event for three-year-old filly pacing known as the Adios Betty.
