ONE punter certainly has faith in freakish New Zealand pacer Lazarus.
Last week the punter placed $20,000 on Lazarus to capture the Chariots Of Fire at a $1.40.
Lazarus not only captured the Group One in 1:49, he earned a berth in the Miracle Mile on February 25 in the process.
Pleased with the result, the gambler has reinvested the $28,000 on the Mark Purdon/Natalie Rasmussen-trained entire to annex Australasia’s premier sprint.
Tabcorp took the wager while Lazarus was listed at $2.30, with the four-year-old’s Fixed Odds quote coming into $2.10.
Victorian stablemates Hectorjay and Lennytheshark are the only Miracle Mile contenders under double figures at $3.50 and $6.
Prepared by David Aiken, the pair will contest Miracle Mile qualifiers at Tabcorp Park Menangle on Saturday night.
