PROMISING pacer Mister Lennox may have earned himself a trip interstate.
Thanks to his Golden Mile success at Launceston last night, trainer Juanita McKenzie revealed she is considering another Victorian campaign with the son of Changeover.
McKenzie has earmarked the Four and Five-Year-Old Championship at Tabcorp Park Melton in a fortnight as a possible target for her stable star.
“Nothing has been confirmed, but that could be a nice race for him,” McKenzie said. “Not only is it worth good prize money, but it will also be good experience for him.
“Last night was his first race against open company and with these kind of runs under his belt, hopefully he can take another step as a five-year-old next season.”
Driven by Ricky Duggan during his latest triumph, Mister Lennox proved too strong after racing in the ‘death seat’ before accounting for Melolyn and Crusader Acey in 1:56.6 over 1680 metres.
“I couldn’t be happier with that run,” McKenzie said. “I said during the week before the race he was spot on and that’s exactly how he performed.
“It has taken a bit of time to get him right this season, as he’s had a few issues, but he is right back at his best.”
